Investing back into the community

The astounding success of the Wetherby Beer Festival has absolutely blown us away, raising a whopping £55,000! So the obvious question is what are we spending the money on? Here's a look at how we've been making a difference with the money we've raised...

Charity Partnership

Our fantastic event wouldn't be possible without the support of our community, and we're determined that our festival gives back to our local community. The 2025 beer festival was our third year partnering with Martin House Children's Hospice as they raise money towards their Big Build project.

New Pitch Installation

Ever since the unfortunate demise of Wetherby Cricket Club, the old cricket pitch (the site of our beer festival) has shown potential for repurpose. The week after the beer festival was completed, contractors started work on the resurfacing of this area to make space for a new rugby pitch. Match funding from Sport England allowed us to contract £30,000 worth of work for just £15,000!

A new rugby pitch connected to the clubhouse will allow for a more accessible matchday experience to those who come and watch rugby at Grange Park!

Grounds Maintenance Equipment

One of the big outlays at Grange Park is the maintenance of the grounds by external contractors. Whilst we have made some fantastic partnerships with the people who cut and maintain our pitches, we have the opportunity to purchase our own equipment and reduce the cost of maintaining and improving the quality of our pitches. Thanks to a Football Foundation grant covering 75% of the cost, we're able to purchase a tractor and three attachments worth over £60,000 for just £15,000!

The purchase of a tractor and the three attachments shown will allow us to keep the pitches mown, seeded, level, raked and aerated. This will help improve the playing surface for the 500+ weekly users of the Grange Park pitches

Rainy Day Fund

Quite literally...

Whilst we've had some fantastic weather over the last couple of years of our beer festival, we're determined to future proof the prosperity of the festival by maintaining a reserve for those years the weather gods aren't on our side. That way we all get to enjoy our fantastic festival for many years to come!
